Michael Steven Scraper, 65, of Sapulpa, Oklahoma, passed peacefully on April 6, 2023, with his family by his side. He was born October 13, 1957, to parents William and Charlotte Scraper in Los Angeles, California. He lived in California to New York then settled in Oklahoma.
He met the love of his life in 1979 and wedded in 1981 to Deanna “Deany” Brown. Mike was the greatest provider for his family his entire life. For several years, he worked in construction at Brown Construction for his brother-in-law. He then went to work at Bartlett Collins for approximately 27 years. When Bartlett Collins closed in 2008, he then finished his working career as a machinist at Pipeline Equipment for about 13 years.
Most know Mike from being at Gate 7 during the Tulsa State Fair. He was there all 11 days for 31 years. He met several families involved in livestock and every year he always had a friendly smile and enjoyed interacting with the families. Some even have children and or grandchildren that are now showing livestock.
In his free time, Mike enjoyed fishing, camping, and going to the casino, but most of all loved watching his son and grandchildren play football, basketball and baseball. He was proud of his son showing and breeding show pigs. Like several people, he was always playing games and watching videos on his cell phone.
Michael is survived by his wife of 42 years, Deanna “Deany” Scraper; daughters Michelle Scraper of Beggs, Tonya Smith and husband Eric of Eufaula and Charlotte Scraper of Beggs; son Robert Scraper of Beggs; grandchildren Michael (Slim), Cheyanne (Piggy) and Ericka Smith of Eufaula; sisters Pat Garrett and Vallie Scraper of Stillwell; brothers Harvey Scraper of Stillwell and Bill Scraper of Florida and several nieces and nephews as well as leaving behind several grand fur babies.
He is preceded in death by his son William Roy Scraper; parents William and Charlotte Scraper; brother Pudge Scraper; mother and father-in-law Edna Mae Seber Brown and Roy Wilkerson Brown; brothers-in-law Vincent Brown, Ricky Brown and Robert Brown and sister-in-law Rhonda Bales.
