Michael H. Simms of Crawfordsville passed away at home on Friday, Jan. 23, 2026.He was born to Marion Simms and Mildred Rhodes Simms Wooten on June 8, 1955 in Crawfordsville. He married Linda A. Dickson on June 21, 1974. He graduated from North Montgomery High School in 1974. He worked at Miller’s Meat Locker from the time he was 13 until he went to Coast to Coast. He was one of the first 10 hired and one of the last 10 to leave when Coast to Coast closed the doors. He worked at CEL&P, Bonded Gas Company, Schloot’s Furniture, Golden Books, Random Books, Penske, Home Depot and INDOT. In 2008, he bought the locksmith business from Stockall’s and named it Mi-Keys & More. He enjoyed having his own business. He met several people and made lots of friends. He was also a talented woodworker. He made several gifts for friends and family. He made beautiful wind chimes.He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church for several years and held the office of Trustee for part of those years. He then transferred to Calvary Chapel several years ago where he enjoyed the fellowship at church.Michael and Linda have two daughters, Jennifer and Aimee. They moved from Waynetown to Crawfordsville in 1987. He enjoyed living in Crawfordsville, being closer to work and shopping. He liked living on The Court, lots of good neighbors.Michael is survived by: his wife, Linda; two daughters, Jennifer A. Simms (Joseph) Repasky, Crawfordsville and Aimee N. Simms (Daniel) Kumm of Lafayette; four grandchildren, Casey and Joseph Repasky of Crawfordsville, Ainsley and Audrey Kumm of Lafayette; three sisters-in-law, who were as sisters to him, Karen (Dave) Gehrke, Plymouth, Janet (Scott) Man, Lafayette and Donna (Bill) Runkle, Lafayette; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; an aunt, Roberta Hamm also survives.He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Susan Simms and a brother, Robert Simms.A celebration of life will be held later this Spring. Arrangements were entrusted to Burkhart Funeral Home.
