Michael's Obituary
PHILADELPHIA, NY – Michael F. Smith, 71, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 20, 2025, at Samaritan Medical Center.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, July 24, 2025, from 1 to 3 p.m. at Reed & Benoit Funeral Home, with a funeral service immediately following at 3 p.m.
Michael was born on January 18, 1954, in Malone, New York, the son of the late Bernard and Viola (Collins) Smith. After completing his education, he proudly served in the United States Army from 1972 until his honorable discharge in 1974.
A devoted fan of NASCAR and Evans Mills racing, Michael also enjoyed taking casino trips. He had a heart of gold and will be deeply missed.
On January 16, 1999, he married Betty T. Bevins, who survives him.
In addition to his wife of over 26 years, Betty Smith, he is survived by three daughters: Jenine (Calvin Henry) Bowman of Watertown, Carrie Smith, and Katie Smith; as well as three siblings: Barbara (Morou) Amidou of Watertown, Tina (Jim Bean) Bowman of Watertown, and Randy (Billie Jo Pemarco) Bowman of Theresa.
