Michael Andrew Susak

Michael Susak (born May 10, 1935) passed on Sunday, December 11, surrounded by close family. He rose to the rank of master seargent in the army after his trouble-making days in high school. Though self-described as "meaner than a hornet," he was a kind and gentle man who made sure his family had whatever they needed. He was a man of incredible will, even going so far as to quit smoking cold-turkey before his grandchildren were born. He spent his retirement quietly, reading, leatherworking, and enjoying time with his family. He was ready to join his his wife in the afterlife and passed peacefully. He's survived by his two children--Janet and David--his four grandchildren--Ben, Eric, Jenny, and Kira--and two great-grandchildren--Leilani and James. Graveside service will be held on Thursday, 12/29, at 2:00pm, at the VA National Memorial Cemetery located at 23029 N. Cave Creek Road, Phoenix, AZ 85024
