Not sure what to say?

Michael looked after others in his own unique style. Rarely could I ever predict how Mike would respond to things, or what he may say. But as I recall, I was ALWAYS glad to be there to hear it. Rest easy, old friend. I remain grateful for all I learned from you. Fond regards to Susan and family!

So sorry for your loss. Love you.

Michael was truly one of a kind. He was exceptionally knowledgeable about all things surgical. Always went out of his way to help and to make the staff feel comfortable. As a new assistant, I leaned on him very much. Such a kind, nice man. So sorry for your loss Sue.

Michael's Obituary

George Michael Waines found his final rest and peace on 07/03/24. He was 76 years old. Michael was a kind and caring man. He served his country in Vietnam and served his community at Oakwood Hospital for over 40 years. He loved with his whole heart. He taught his children, Jennifer, Jack, and Jaime to do their best, love freely, let their emotions flow, and help those they can whenever they can. His wife Susan was the love of his life and was by his side through everything in their 33 years of marriage. Michael was a warrior, a healer, a philosopher, a teacher, a husband, a father, a brother, a Papa, a musician, a storyteller, and a lover of life. He was also hilarious. Michael will live on in the hearts and minds of the countless people whose lives he touched. Michael's Memorial Mass will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 2nd at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 22430 Michigan Ave, Dearborn, MI 48124.  Gathering from 10:30 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital or Capuchins
