South Paris-Miguel " Michael " C. Monzo of Oxford, died Friday, January 2nd, 2009 at the Maine Veterans Home in South Paris from complications of COPD.He was born in the Phillipines, November 19, 1926 the son of Raphael and Anita Castilla Monzo. He faithfully served his country in the Navy for 24 years, while in the Navy one of his jobs was as a cook at Camp David for President Kennedy. After retiring from the Navy he worked on the Canadian National Railroad for over 20 years before retiring. After his retirement, he enjoyed working outdoors,cooking, and spending time with his wife and children.He is survived by his loving family, wife Sandra, his daughters Jamie, Tara and Erika and his son Ian. In addition,to Kimberly Kirby of New Gloucester and Michael Monzo,Jr of Bethel. He was predeceased by Jeannette Goldston of Arizona. Monz0-died in South Paris, January 2, 2009. Funeral services will be held Monday at 4pm at the Weston-Chandler Funeral Home, 45 Main Street, South Paris with spring interment in the South Woodstock Cemetery.Family and friends may visit at the funeral home Monday from 3-4pm prior to the service.
