James Michael Compton, 74, passed away on November 18, 2025, at his residence in Anderson County, KY. Born February 23, 1951, in Central City, KY, he was the son of the late James Bernard Compton and Mabel Thomas Compton.
Mike graduated from Harrodsburg High School and worked at Wild Turkey Distillery in Lawrenceburg, KY, for over 29 years. He loved spending time outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. Mike had a big heart, was loved by many, and was always there for others. Most of all, he loved his family, and they loved him dearly.
Mike is survived by his siblings, Pat (Jim) Matsunaga of Indianapolis, IN; Brenda (Ellis) Bryant of Louisville, KY; Rita Blandford of Louisville, KY; and Denise (Richard) Cripe of Louisville, KY; his sister-in-law, Karen Compton; his nephews, Matthew, Daniel, and Lee; and his nieces, Theresa, Kristen, Courtney, and Kim.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Tommy Compton.
Cremation was chosen, and no services are scheduled.
