Aunt Mill was a true and faithful servant. She was full of so much wisdom. She loved her family and was so proud of her grandchildren. I am so thankful for all the times that I shared with her, but especially those involving my PawPaw. If ever there was a picture that fit the “brother/sister” ideal duo- it would be them. Mildred E. Morris Craig entered eternal life peacefully March 6, 2026 at Lake Granbury Medical Center in Granbury, TX. She was born on September 14, 1938, in Blackton, AR to William Everett and Mabel Eunice Turner Morris. She attended public school in Holly Grove, graduating in 1957. She married Burrell T. “Ted” Craig in Las Cruces, NM. They welcomed their only child, daughter Lana Michelle, in November 1961.
Mildred had a successful 40 year banking career beginning in Midland, TX, later including The Bank of Brinkley, The Bank of Holly Grove, First Commercial Bank in Little Rock, AR and Community Bank in Granbury, TX. She enjoyed volunteering at Hood General Hospital, Granbury, TX and the Billy Graham Crusades, reflecting her caring heart and strong Christian faith.
Mildred loved making memories with her grandchildren and was grateful to be able to spend time with her great grandchildren. She shared a close relationship with her nieces, nephews and their families as “Aunt Mill”.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ted; her brothers David “Buster” and Billy Joe Morris and sisters, Katherine Morris, Mary Frances Morris Spurlock, Georgia Morris Cecil and Susie Morris.
Her survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Lana Craig Lambarth and Steve of Granbury, TX; grandson, Matthew Lambarth of Ft. Worth; granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Lindsey Lambarth Slack and Stewart of Benbrook, TX; and step granddaughter Amber Lambarth Henderson of Los Colinas, TX; great grandchildren, Clara (3), Connor (1) and expected baby boy Slack in August; step great grandchild, Kimbal Henderson and beloved great grand dog, Jackson. Sister, Betty Morris Owens of Popular Grove, AR and numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held March 28, 2026 at 11:00 am in Macedonia Cemetery with Bro. Jerry Hopper officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Macedonia Cemetery c/o Angie Fannon 6264 Hwy 146, Holly Grove, AR 72069 in Mildred’s memory.
