Not sure what to say?

My deepest sympathies to Kenny, Tina, Wayne and Chrisie and rest of the family. The years that I lived next door to you, Millie was my best friend. We talked for hours while we were in the back yard; Hanging wash out or just talking. She is the one that pottie-trained Lonny for me; while I was working! When we sold our house and moved to Maryland, I really missed her and all of you! Being back in Northampton, I would run into Wayne at various places and times. God Bless you all and May God...

My heartfelt love Prayers and sympathy for all

May the love of friends and family carry you through your grief.

Our deepest condolences to the whole family. In your time of sorrow please take comfort in knowing that you are not alone. If you need someone to talk to we are only a phone call away.

Obituary

Mildred's Obituary

Mildred “Millie” Green (née Conklin), 80, of Northampton, Pennsylvania passed away peacefully Monday night, Sept 22, surrounded by family who were united in prayer with her as she entered into heaven.

Mildred was born in New Jersey, but spent most of her life in Northampton with her husband, Kenneth, with whom she celebrated her 65th wedding anniversary on Sept. 9. She was a stay-at-home mother to her three children and worked from her home as a babysitter.

One of her favorite activities was sifting through antique stores to find something new to help furnish her home. She had a special affinity for antique clocks, chandeliers, furniture, and cookware. She had a passion for Longaberger baskets and owned nearly every product they sold.

When at home, she enjoyed relaxing on her deck and watching the birds eat from the various bird feeders that decorate her yard. Her favorite, by far, were the hummingbirds.

Mildred was a friendly person who could strike up a conversation with anyone she met, and often would. She enjoyed road trips, especially to Lancaster, and liked to attend Iron Pigs games with her husband.

Most important to Mildred, however, was her deep faith in God and her love for her family. She ended most of her conversations with family with the words “stay safe and God bless” after she reminded them how much she loved them.

The holidays were her favorite time of year because she, her husband, her children, and her grandchildren would all get together at her home. She enjoyed baking and cooking for every holiday, and everyone especially loved the homemade rolls she made with the recipe passed down to her by her grandmother.

Mildred will be missed by her loving husband Kenneth, her three children Tina Dech (and her husband Dave), Christine Green Minarovic, and Wayne Green; and her three grandchildren, Justin Dech, Tyler Arnold, and Austin Arnold.

She will also be missed by her sisters Pearl Pfaff, Beverly Person (and her husband Charlie), Joan Yeakel (and her husband Frank), Dorothy Scoggin, Sandra Ortega (and her husband Frankie), and Debbie Duld. Most of her sisters, nephews, and nieces affectionately called her by the nickname “Widgie,” which her father gave her when she was young.

Mildred is reunited in heaven with her two sisters and three brothers who preceded her in death: Agnes Yeakel, Linda Kay, Kenny Black, Paul Conklin, Jr., and Gary Conklin. She is also reunited with her parents Paul Conklin and Violet Conklin (née Caskey).

Shortly before passing, Mildred led the family gathered around her in the Lord’s Prayer. Hours later, she was welcomed into the loving embrace of her Savior Jesus Christ to reap the reward of eternal life with Him in heaven.

As Saint Paul wrote: “Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him: Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him” (Rom. 6: 8-9).

Services: A prayer service will be held on Monday, September 29th at 11:00 a.m. in the Reichel Funeral Home, 326 E. 21st St., Northampton. Family and friends may call on Monday morning from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Interment will follow in St. Peter Cemetery, Seemsville.
