Mildred's Obituary

 

Mildred Katherine (Knapp) Hoffelmeyer passed away Saturday, November 4, 2017  at a care facility in Winterset, Iowa to be with her Lord.  She was born on November 28, 1918, to Joseph E. & Minnie (Bollman) Knapp.  She spent most all of her life in St. Joseph.  Her last 4-1/2  years were spent in Winterset, Iowa.   In 1945 she married Russell Loyd Hoffelmeyer.   He died in May, 2007.  She was also preceded in death by her twin brother, Richard Knapp, and a sister, Marjorie Hoffelmeyer. 

 

 Mildred was a homemaker.  She graduated from Oak Grove School.  She belonged to Zion United Church of Christ all her life, where she taught Sunday School, sang in the choir, served on various committees, and was a member of the prayer quilting group.

 

 Survivors include son Michael D. Hoffelmeyer (Teresa) of Winterset, Iowa, and daughter Sally A. Hoffelmeyer-Katz (George) of Salt Lake City, Utah.  Additional survivors include 5 grand children:  Peter J. Hoffelmeyer (Jennifer) of Prole, Iowa, Virginia M. Hoffelmeyer of Clive, Iowa, Patrick M. Hoffelmeyer of Ames, Iowa, Emily E. Reidburn (Ryan) of Winterset, Iowa, and Michaela K. Hoffelmeyer, and 5 great grandchildren, Ethan, Lauren, and Brayden Hoffelmeyer of Prole, and Wesley and Paisley Reidburn of Winterset.  

 

Services 11:00 AM, Wednesday at Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel. Interment at Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Tuesday evening 5 to 7 PM at our chapel.

 

 In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Zion United Church of Christ or a charity of the donor’s choice.
