Faye Watson, age 84, a beloved resident of Florala, Alabama, passed away peacefully on November 16, 2025. She was born on February 20, 1941, and lived a life marked by faith, devotion, and a deep love for her family.
To her family, she was known as Gran and Granny, names spoken with affection by the grandchildren and great-grandchildren who brought her such joy. Faye loved her family dearly, and they were truly the light of her life. She enjoyed singing—especially the old gospel hymns—and her voice was a familiar and cherished sound among those who worshiped with her. She loved her church and her church family, and her faith was steadfast, anchored firmly in her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Faye was a woman of the Word. She didn’t just read her Bible—she lived it. Her witness, her kindness, and her unwavering faith were evident to everyone who knew her. She lived out her testimony daily, and her gentle spirit touched countless lives.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Watson; her father, Charles Kendrick; her mother, Trudy Rhodes Kendrick; and her daughter, Sarah Ann Batson.
She is survived by her son, Jimmy Watson and his wife Judy; her daughter, Sylvia Hagerty and her husband Dan; her brothers, Tommy Kendrick, and Clyde Kendrick and his wife Wanda; her sisters, Joyce Myers and her husband Bob, and Myrtle Cotton and her husband Jimmy.
She leaves behind six grandchildren—Matthew, Miranda, Cody, Joshua, Daniel, and James—and her great-grandchildren—Titus, Gracie, Baylee, Lucas, Jayce, and a soon-to-arrive baby girl Watson—each of whom she treasured deeply.
Funeral services for Faye Watson will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 19, at Clear Springs Apostolic Church, with visitation beginning one hour prior to the service. Curtis Powell will officiate. Burial will follow in the Clear Springs Church Cemetery.
Faye’s legacy of faith, love, and gentle strength will continue to shine in the lives of all who knew and loved her.
