Modesta's Obituary

Modesta DeJesus, 88, passed away peacefully on August 14, 2025, in Fall River, Massachusetts. Born on November 8, 1936, in Puerto Rico, she lived a life marked by devotion to her family and faith.

A cook by profession, Modesta brought warmth and nourishment not only through the meals she prepared but also through the love and care she poured into every aspect of her life. 

Modesta was a devout Christian and a faithful member of the Church of God. Her spiritual life was a cornerstone of her identity and guided her actions with grace and compassion. Those who knew her remember her as a sweet, loving, and caring woman; truly the best person you could ever meet.

She is lovingly remembered by her Husband Heriberto A. DeJesus, her sons Elliot Rodriguez and Mike Rodriguez; daughters Carmen M Perez-Cirilo, Gladys Rodriguez, and Iris Martinez; and by the memory of her late daughters Miguelina Avila and Jully Ortiz. Modesta also leaves behind her brothers Eduardo Cirilo, Efraim Cirilo; as well as eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sister Gloria Sosa, her brothers Manuel Cirilo, Alfonso Cirilo and Andres Cirilo.

Modesta’s legacy lives on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her. May her memory bring comfort to all who mourn her passing. A Visitation will be held on August 21, 2025, at 03:00 PM at Boule Funeral Home, Inc. 615 Broadway. followed by a funeral service in the funeral home a 6pm.

Committal Prayers will be said graveside at Notre Dame Cemetery August 22, 2025 at 10am.
