So sorry to hear the news. Heart felt condolences to Bill, Patricia and Antonia and the whole family. She found joy and happiness in her family which is all anyone could ask for.

I will miss Monas posts on facebook. Brother John and I would always comment on her count downs to Christmas..I send my thoughts and condolences to Bill and her beautiful daughters. I have known Mona since high school.

Mona's Obituary

Carthage- Mona R. Ventiquattro Thomas, age 72, passed away peacefully on early morning Monday, October 13, 2025, at the Samaritan Medical Center in Watertown, NY, under the compassionate care of her loving husband Bill and family.

Calling Hours will be held on Thursday, October 16, 2025, from 4:00pm-7:00pm at the Bezanilla-McGraw Funeral Home, located at 518 State Street Carthage, NY 13619. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, October 17, 2025, at 11:00am at the St. James Catholic Church in Carthage. Burial will follow and be held in the Brookside Cemetery in Watertown, NY. 

Mona was born on September 3, 1953, in Massena, New York, to the late Claire "Red" and Ruth (Camidge) Barnhardt. She graduated from Carthage Central School in 1971. In 1971, she married Italio David Ventiquattro, who passed away in April of 1997. She later married William C. "Bill" Thomas on August 31, 2002.

Throughout her career, Mona dedicated herself to nursing, working at various local establishments. She retired from a job she cherished as the school nurse at the Watertown City School District. Mona found joy in riding motorcycles with her husband and, above all, embraced her favorite role as a nana, cherishing time spent with her grandchildren.

Mona is survived by her devoted husband, William C. Thomas of Carthage; her children, Patricia (Michael) Mandigo, Antonia Ventiquattro-Bailey, and companion Jeffrey Turck. She is also survived by her siblings, Deborah Bousman, Carla Williams, Tina Gokey, Betty Jo Marhefka, and Claire K. Barnhart Jr., along with 5 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Italio "David," and her son, David K. Ventiquattro in 2010.

Donations in her memory can be made to Tunnels to Towers Foundation or the St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
