Daddy, I want to thank you for how loved you always made me feel. I can’t find the right words to describe the crushing loss that I feel without you in the world. I hope you knew that I always kept you in my head and heart, daily, everywhere I went, whatever I was doing. I loved you more than I could ever say but was unable to show you with my daily presence. I hope you could feel me. I hope you felt as loved by me as I did by you. I love you. I miss you. Thank you for being such a wonderful...

I met Monty when I worked at Breland Health and Fitness. He was a part of a group of gentlemen who would come drink coffee and work out. I still have the pen that he made for me. He always had a story and I enjoyed hearing every one of them. My prayers for the family.

Monty Bob Morrison, 83, of Burkburnett, Texas, passed away peacefully at home September 17, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Monty was born on July 24, 1942, in San Diego, California to late parents, Lois Stegall and Guy Morrison and had a close relationship with his grandmother, Lenora Stegall Allen. Monty was preceded in death by his dear sister, Julie Young Nemecek; and grandson, Brendon Holtzen.
Monty is survived by his loving, devoted wife, Carlene Cullison Morrison; son, John Morrison (Dawn); daughter, Julie Langdon (Bob); stepsons, Heath Holtzen (Charlotte) and Rusty Holtzen (Jessica); grandchildren, Tania, Hunter, Nathan and Robert; step-grandchildren, Charessa, Alexandra, Archer, and Baylor; great-grandson, Christian; and great-granddaughters, Ayla and Addison.
Rightly proud of his nearly 10 years of service as a Boiler Technician Second Class in the United States Navy, Monty got his Veterans of Foreign War status in the Vietnam War. During those years he was also fortunate enough to travel the world and earn the experience he brought to Eden Hospital where he worked and retired as a Maintenance Engineer, Stationary Engineers Local 39.
Monty enjoyed working with his hands, whether he was building furniture, updating his homes, carving wood with his wood turners’ group or spending decades working on his 1967 Sunbeam Tiger in his custom shop. Monty was an adventurous man. He spent his life building, running, hiking and biking, before retiring and moving back to his childhood town, Burkburnett. It was then that he met the love of his life, Carlene, where the two of them have spent 17 years together. Monty enjoyed collecting unique and sentimental antiques and tiger collectibles. He also had a passion for music and movies.
Monty was a wonderful father and grandfather and loved his wife. He will be deeply missed. His legacy will live on in the lives he has touched, and the memories of those he loved.
A Celebration of Monty’s life will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 20, 2025 at Jan Lee Baptist Church in Burkburnett with Bro. Mark Simons and Tom Hawk officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home in Burkburnett.
