On January 28, 2026, the Lord opened His loving arms and welcomed Brother Alex Waldrup, Jr. into eternal rest.

Alex Waldrup, Jr. was born in Shreveport, Louisiana, to the late Eunice Jewett Waldrup and Alex Waldrup, Sr. He was the second of four children born to this union.

At an early age, Alex confessed Christ and united with Mt. Sinai Baptist Church, where he was baptized under the leadership of Rev. Kemp. He later continued his faithful membership under Rev. George Kirts, and his membership remained until his passing.

Alex received his formal education through the Campti Creston School System in Campti, Louisiana.

He later met and married the love of his life, Rosalyn R. Scott, on April 22, 1967. From this blessed union, six children were born, bringing joy, purpose, and fulfillment to their home.

Throughout his working years, Alex held various jobs, but his true passion was working in the plywood mills. He worked on the Green Chain in Winnfield, Louisiana, at Treemount Lumber Company and Willamette Plywood Mill in Grand Ecore, Louisiana. He later became employed with Almond Brothers in Coushatta, Louisiana, where he retired.

Alex lived a fulfilled and meaningful life. He found joy in sitting outside with friends and neighbors, simply passing time and sharing fellowship. He was a devoted father who made sure his children attended school, made good grades, went to church, and could quote scripture with understanding. He often reminded them to respect themselves, teaching that their conduct was a reflection of their home.

Alex was preceded in death by his beloved wife of many years, Rosalyn Scott Waldrup; his parents, Eunice Jewett Waldrup and Alex Waldrup, Sr.; his sister, Norma Jean Waldrup; his brother, Jerry B. Waldrup; his son, Raevon Waldrup; his grandson, Alexis Matson; and his daughter-in-law, Shetoka Waldrup.

Those left to cherish his loving memory include his children: Trichel Annette Scott, Terace Ramona Scott, Latershish Lorraine Waldrup (Louis), and Norma Jean Waldrup, all of Natchitoches, Louisiana; and Alexis Geron Waldrup (Kisha) of Addison, Texas. He also leaves to cherish his memory eighteen grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren; one sister, Lessie Mae Waldrup; one aunt, Luella Walters; three sisters-in-laws; one brother-in- law; his beloved godchild, Sharon Jefferson (L.J.); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and loved ones.
