Obituary

Mr. Anthony's Obituary

Anthony “Baby Ant” Joseph Mickens was born July 1, 1981, to the late Irtes and Dorothy Mickens. He was baptized at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, where he served as an Altar Server, in the Christian Youth Organization, and as a Junior Knight in Peter Claver Court #28. Anthony graduated from Central High School in 2001. He was a member of the choir and received an All-Region award. He was also a member of the football team and received the All-District Center award his senior year.

Anthony was a loving father, family member, and friend whose heart was as big as his love for his family. He had a way of making those around him feel supported and cared for, and his presence brought comfort, strength, and warmth. His laughter, kindness, and unwavering love will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know him.

Above all, Anthony cherished his role as a father. He was the proud father of Alyna Mickens, Dominic Mickens, and Dasia Mickens, and he found great joy in his blessings. Becoming a grandfather brought him special happiness, and he adored his grandson, Asaiah Reed, who held a very special place in his heart.

Anthony passed away on January 7, 2026, in Beaumont, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Irtes and Dorothy Mickens; sister Ursula Mickens, and several aunts and uncles.

Those left to cherish his memories are his wife, Katrina Lynn Mickens; his children, Alyna Mickens of Beaumont, Texas, Dominic Mickens and Daisa Mickens of Victoria, Texas; stepsons, Jawane Williams, Kenahdi English, and Andoresyn Ellis all of Dallas, Texas; grandchild, Asaiah Reed of Beaumont, Texas; siblings, Anglia Lazard (Easten), Ronald Thomas (Cassandra), John Thomas, Kelvin "Turk" Mickens, Calvin "Bo" Mickens, and Adrian Mickens all of Beaumont, Texas; Gillford Mickens of Houston, Texas; aunt, Deborah Thomas of Beaumont, Texas; uncle, Wilbert Thomas of Beaumont, Texas; godmother, Sheila Goolsbee; special friend, Apral Dunmore of Beaumont, Texas; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Anthony’s legacy endures through his children and grandson, along with the love, lessons, and memories he shared with them. Although his time here was too brief, the love he gave so generously will continue to shine through his family for generations to come.

He will be deeply missed, always loved, but never forgotten.
