Mr. Carlus B.'s Obituary

Mr. Carlus Bermon Hicks of Woodward Apartments, Vienna, Georgia died Thursday, May 8, 2025 at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital in Tallahassee, Florida.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, May 17, 2025, at 1:00 PM in the chapel of the J. W. Williams Funeral Home in Cordele, Georgia.  The burial will follow at the Vienna City Cemetery in Vienna, Georgia.

Everyone entering the funeral home for visitations or services is required to wear a mask and to practice social distancing.  A mask must be worn throughout the stay.  You must supply your own mask. 

Carlus Bermon Hicks was born on May 23, 1980, in Americus, Georgia, to Charlie B. Hicks and Brenda A. Lester. He spent his formative years in the public school system and graduated from Dooly County High School.

Carlus was a man of many interests. He found joy in fishing, flying planes, and had a deep appreciation for music. These hobbies were not just pastimes for him but integral parts of his life that brought him happiness and fulfillment.

His mother, Brinda Ann Lester, his grandparents, Rosie Fletcher (Al), Annie Ruth Mann Lester; his great grandfather, Baltimore Sanders; his aunts and uncles, Eddie Mae Lester, Helen Ruth Lester Granville, Eddie C. Lester, and Ronnie Lester; and brother-in-law, Clifford Davis, each preceded him in death. Carlus transitioned on Thursday, May 8, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. He will be remembered for his warm spirit and the love he shared with all who knew him. 

Carlus is survived by his loving and devoted family that includes his daughter, Camari D. Hicks of Vienna, Georgia; his father: Charlie B. Hicks of Vienna, Georgia; his sisters: Rosa Davis of Henderson, Georgia, Dr. Cynthia Hicks Johnson of Kathleen, Georgia, Laodicea Hicks Brown (Walter) of Cordele, Georgia, Minister Latina Hill (James) of Cordele, Georgia and Lakesha V. Hicks of Hawkinsville, Georgia; his brothers, Eddie Hicks (Stacy) of Vienna, Georgia and Willie Hicks (Natasha) of Leeds, Alabama; his uncle: Sylvester Granville of Lilly, Georgia; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, including:  Willie Passmore of Vienna, Georgia, his adopted aunt, Ms. Christine of Tifton, Georgia, Jerome Presley of Vienna, Georgia, Cedric Granville of Lilly, Georgia and Lisa D. Jacobs of Warner Robins, Georgia, Demetrious Passmore and Jamal Murry of Vienna, Georgia.
