Mr. Cason L.'s Obituary

Mr. Cason Leonard Lucas of 706 West 17th Avenue, Cordele, Georgia, died Sunday, January 25, 2026.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at 3:00 PM at the chapel of the J. W. Williams Funeral Home in Cordele, Georgia.  The burial will follow at the Gum Creek Church Cemetery in Cordele, Georgia.

Everyone entering the funeral home for visitations or services is required to wear a mask and maintain social distancing.  A mask must be worn throughout the stay.  You must supply your mask. 

Cason Leonard Lucas,  known to his family and friends as "KK," was born on March 15, 1983, in Cordele, Crisp County, Georgia. He was born to Jeffery Lucas and Maranda Rose Hamilton. KK was a cherished member of his community, known for his warm smile, friendly nature, and love for life.

Cason grew up in Cordele, where he attended the public schools of Crisp County. He was a proud 2001 graduate of Crisp County High School. From a young age, he was a vibrant presence in his community, known for his kindness and his ability to make friends easily.

At the tender age of five, KK was baptized at the Greater Gum Creek Baptist Church, marking the beginning of his lifelong   journey in faith. Most recently, he reaffirmed his beliefs by praying the Prayer of Salvation with Reverend Perry, demonstrating his continued dedication to his spiritual life.

KK had a passion for playing cards and dominos, often gathering with friends and family to enjoy these games. He was also an avid football fan, cheering passionately for his favorite team, the San Francisco 49ers.

Cason's family meant everything to him. He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Maranda Rose Hamilton Colbert; his grandmothers, Marie D. Hamilton and Jessie Walker; and his aunt, Yolanda Curry.

KK's life was a testament to love, friendship, and community. He passed away on Sunday, January 25, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of joy and warmth. His memory will be cherished by all who knew him, and his spirit will continue to inspire those who loved him.

Memories of his life will forever be cherished by his father, Jeffery Lucas of Atlanta, Georgia; his children, Lariah Wright, Cason  Lucas Jr., Kamara Lucas, Cameron Waters, Kade Florence, and Canon Lucas, all of Cordele, Georgia; his sister, Malbylon (Larry) Walker of Cordele, Georgia; his brothers, Jeffery Lucas and Antwan Harvey of Atlanta, Georgia; his companion, Martesa Waters of Cordele, Georgia; his stepfather, Charles Colbert of Cordele, Georgia; his grandfather, Eddie Walker of Cordele, Georgia; his aunts and uncles, Denise Dennard of Centerville, Georgia, Lavetta (Zack) Fields of Vienna, Georgia, Valerie (Kenneth) Tukes of Bonaire, Georgia, Marshanda (John) Holmes of Ashburn, Georgia, Lawanda Davis of Cordele, Georgia, Latressa (Rodney) Taylor of Byron, Georgia, Roderick Walker, Markey Walker, Corey Dobb, and Ashley Dowdell; his great aunts and great uncles, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; many friends, to include, Antavious Green, Bernard Harmon, Marcus Smith, Carlos Armstrong, Dedrick Smith, and Rodrigous Luckey, as well as the 17th Avenue Crew.
