Mr. Charles Jenkins, one of seven children born to the late Mr. Prezzie Jenkins and Mrs. Mymie Benjamin Jenkins, was born on February 4, 1945 in Holly Hill, South Carolina.  He entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, July 28, 2020 at the Regional Medical Center in Orangeburg, South Carolina.

He grew up and attended the public schools in Holly Hill.

He enjoyed working on cars, so he opened his own Mechanic Shop.  He was well known in the town of Holly Hill and surrounding areas.  Some of his clients would say if “Charlie Boy” couldn’t fix it, it couldn’t be fixed.  That statement spoke volumes of how talented he was as a mechanic.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six sisters: Mrs. Lucille Campbell, Ms. Prezzy Mae Guest, Mrs. Helen Holman, Ms. Delores Jenkins, Mrs. Pearnell Young, Ms. Merle Capers and a brother-in-law, Mr. Jasper Guess.

He was married to Celestine Bryant Jenkins.  This union was blessed with four children: Charles G. Jenkins, Michelle S. Jenkins, Charleszetta  Jenkins and Tonya D. Jenkins .

He leaves to cherish his memory: Celestine Jenkins, of Holly Hill, SC; his children: Charles G. Jenkins and Michelle Jenkins, both of Holly Hill, SC, Charleszetta Jenkins and Tonya D. Jenkins, both of Columbia, SC, Charles Durant, of Brooklyn, NY, Pamela (Antonio) Fuller-Mitchell and Tyrod Sweat, both of Holly Hill, SC; five sisters: Betty Lou Jenkins, Tonya Smalls, Playess Smalls and Latasha Smalls, all of Holly Hill, SC and Debbie Bookhart, of Vance, SC; three brothers: Willlie (Helen) Jenkins, of Holly Hill, SC, Patrick Smalls, of Columbia, SC and Curtis Bookhart, of Vance, SC; two brothers-in-law, James (JP) Young and James Gillard, both of Holly Hill, SC, a special niece, Nicole Jenkins, of Cross, SC; five grandchildren, one great-grandchild and a host of loving nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, other relatives and friends.
