Earl Timothy Sigee, Sr., was born on June 1, 1954, in Beaumont, Texas. He was the third child born to Edward Sigee Sr. and Nora Ann Boutte Sigee. He touched many during his lifetime with his kindness, wisdom, and love.
Earl was a graduate of Charlton-Pollard High School, C/O 1969. He married his high-school sweetheart, Sheryl George. He began his professional journey working at Mobil Oil Refinery, where he worked for 29 years. Earl was also an entrepreneur who ran Earl T’s Auto & Mechanic Shop next to Big Johns on Gladys Street, where he built a reputation as the man who could fix just about anything—or at least convince you he could. Earl loved taking things apart just to see how they worked—sometimes putting them back together, and sometimes…not quite. If it did anything—opened, closed, hummed, blinked, or made the slightest noise—it was in jeopardy of being taken apart and put back together with no guarantee it would ever work the same way again. That was Earl’s signature: curiosity first, functionality…maybe.
He enjoyed cooking, eating, and convincing others to try his concoctions with his signature line: “You can’t taste with your eyeballs... Ya' don’t know what ya' like til ya' put it in ya' mouth and taste it.” He was funny – sometimes intentionally, but more often by accident. Earl could make a room laugh without trying, which was good because he also had a talent for saying things so bluntly you had no choice but to laugh to keep from crying. His sense of humor—often unintentional—was one of the many things that made him unforgettable.
Earl gave his life to Christ and eventually led him to the pulpit as an associate minister at Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Albert K. Haynes. He had a way of connecting with people who did not think they were worthy of God’s redemption. While living at the Crossing Apartments, Earl would often lead a Bible study for the other residents. He sought biblical truths and therefore enjoyed debating biblical topics.
Earl took his final breath on Monday, January 19, 2026, in Beaumont at Avir at Beaumont Nursing and Rehab facility. Earl is preceded in death by his son, Earl Timothy Sigee, Jr.; his parents, Edward Sigee, Sr., and Nora B. Sigee; and his sisters, Mary Gage and Lucille Sigee. He is survived by his daughters, LaTanya Sigee, Da’Zha Sigee, and son, Bryce Sigee (Jisalyn); his sister, Barbara Edwards (Lionel); his brothers, Edward Sigee (Barbara), Emile Sigee (Debra), Thomas Sigee, Sr. (Alicia), and Ezriel Sigee (Janette); and his grandchildren, Taylor Sigee, Chantera Hagan, Earl Timothy Sigee III, Londyn Sigee, and Euro Sigee.
Earl’s life was full—full of successes, lessons learned, laughter, stories, and a hilarious truth with a twist. At his best, he was an honest, caring, giving, fun-loving person with a natural ability to make others laugh. At his worst, he could be cold and distant—but he was always real, always himself. His legacy will live on in those who love him most. May he rest peacefully — and may Heaven hide its appliances.
