Harry Fuselier’s Obituary

Born on May 4, 1952 in Opelousas, Louisiana to Henry and Marie Fuselier, Harry James Fuselier lived a life rooted in loyalty, love, and purpose. He understood the value of hard work — a principle that guided him daily. Whether it was long hours on the job, helping others in need, or being there when someone needed a hand, Harry never did anything halfway.

He dedicated 24 years of service to Jefferson County Maintenance Department, where his work ethic and integrity earned him the respect of his coworkers. Even more, Harry was most proud of the life he built with his family. He exemplified strength and he always put his family first.

A lifelong lover of horses, Harry found peace in the simple beauty of the country and sharing the bond he had with his horses. But above all, Harry was a family man. On August 4, 1972, Harry devoted his love to his beloved wife Rosa, who preceded him in death, and he cherished his role as a father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. His greatest joys were found in simple moments: a shared laugh, a good meal, a cold beer, and time spent with the people he loved most. His loyalty, steady presence, and “choice words” left a mark on everyone fortunate enough to know him.

Harry leaves behind a legacy of strength and unwavering love. He was preceded in death by his parents Henry and Marie Fuselier, his sister Carole Lemelle, and his brother Henry “Sonny” Fuselier, Jr. Harry is survived by his four children: Johnathan (Monikue) of Copperas Cove, TX, Travis of Beaumont, TX, Champella Milton (Nicodemus) of Midland, TX, and Ranada Broussard (Damian) of Beaumont, TX, his grandchildren: Johnathan, Jr. “LJ,” Darius, Elise, Jazlyn, Micah, Chanlan, Nickyle, Cortland, Dillon, Nicholas, Kameron, and Nicadous, his brothers: Sosthene Fuselier (DeLisa), Harold Fuselier (Kathy), and Luke Fuselier, his sisters Anna Fuselier, Joyce Barnaba, Louise Canida, Lorena Hawkins (David), Glenda Auzenne (James), and Genevieve Thomas (Ronald); brother-in-law Danny Lemelle; Godchildren: Luke Fuselier and Johanna Guillory; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
