Mr. Isaac M.'s Obituary

Mr. Isaac Michael Johnson of 87 Curry Street, Rochelle, Georgia, died Thursday, February 12, 2026, at his residence.

The funeral service will be on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at 3:00 PM in the sanctuary of the Antioch Baptist Church in Pineview, Georgia.  The burial will follow in the churchyard cemetery.

Isaac M. Johnson, 83, of Rochelle, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 12, 2026, at his residence.  He was born in Madison, Florida, to the late Artis and Martha Johnson.

He attended public school in Madison, Florida, and after graduating from high school, he relocated to Neptune, New Jersey.  He started working at Cooper Works in Perth Amboy, New Jersey, and later retired from The Asbury Park Press in Asbury Park, New Jersey.

His favorite pastime was being at home with his wife watching Soap Operas, sports, and Westerns.  He was a die-hard Miami Dolphins and New York Mets fan.  He loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 59 years, Juanita Barnes Johnson; his son,  Raymond   Johnson (Jacqueline) of Rochelle, Georgia; his daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Johnson of Pineview, Georgia; his grandchildren, Shae (Jackie), Nicky, Shikira, Monica (Tony), Tiffany, Ivory, and Rihanna; a host of loving great grandchildren; two god daughters, Yamilia Coursey-Nelson (Shawn) of Ocean, New Jersey and  Kimberly Brown of Toms River, New Jersey; one sister-in-law, Norma Brown (Roosevelt) of Neptune, New Jersey;  Among his greatest joys was the close and loving relationship he shared with his granddaughter Phoenix, whose presence always brought a smile to his face.  Additionally, his memory will also be cherished by a host of close family and friends.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Anthony Johnson; his daughter, Tonya Johnson; and his granddaughter, Sandra.
