Home going celebration services will be held Saturday, June 28, 2014, 2:00 P.M. at the Eleventh Hour Baptist Church, 6342 Old State Road, Holly Hill, South Carolina. The Reverend Edmund Riggins, pastor, will officiate. Viewing will be on Friday from 12:00 Noon until 8:00 P. M. at the funeral home. The body will be placed in the church at 1:00 P.M. The burial will be private. On Wednesday, June 25, 2014, an angel of the Lord visited Julius Shaw, Jr. and quietly prepared his journey home. Julius Shaw, Jr., son of the late Julius Shaw, Sr., and Cora Lee Bryant was born on April 17, 1938 in Orangeburg County in the town of Santee, South Carolina.He grew up and attended public school in Santee, South Carolina.He was a machinist at Framoton Corporation of Danbury, CT for 37 years. He retired in December 1999.Mr. Shaw was a kind, loving person whose love was shown by his attitude and the smiling, pleasant expression on his face. He was loved by all who knew him.On March 21, 1964, he was united in Holy Matrimony to the love of his life, Gelain Keels. God blessed this union with three children.He was predeceased by four brothers: Amos Shaw, Mack Shaw, Harvey Shaw and Cain Shaw.He leaves to cherish fond memories: a devoted wife of fifty years, Mrs. Gelain Keels Shaw, of the home; one daughter, Shanika (Kenny) Tucker, of Bridgebport, CT; three sons, Gregory (Stephanie) Shaw, of New Haven, CT, Darryl (Kim) Shaw, of Norwalk, CT and Harold White, of Santee, SC; one sister, Julia Mae Weldon, of Norwalk, CT; three brothers, Richard (Dorothy) Shaw, of Santee, SC, Abel (Lottie) Shaw, of Landover Hills, MD and William (Rudine) Shaw, of Oxon Hill, MD; five sisters-in-law, Della Mae Shaw and Flossie Shaw, both of MD, Dorothy (Hazel) Keels, Gwendolyn Keels and Catherine (Larry) Keels, all of Norwalk, CT; two brothers-in-law, George (Barbara) Keels, of Bridgeport, CT and Clifford (Elizabeth) Keels, of Norwalk, CT, a special granddaughter, Latisha Johnson, five additional grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, special friends: Deacon Leroy Brown and Deaconess Dorothy J. Cokely and a host of loving nieces, nephews, family and friends.Friends may call at the residence and at the funeral home.
