Mr. Langston H. Aldridge Jr. (“Ricky”), the son of the late Langston H. Aldridge Sr. and late Mary Louise Smalls Aldridge, was born on November 13, 1955 in New York. He departed this life on Tuesday, February 2, 2021 at his home.

While we rejoice that he has entered into the presence of our Lord, there is now an emptiness in our own lives that we mourn. Time may ease the pain of our grief, but it will never diminish the void that remains in our hearts from his absence.

Langston was educated in the public schools of New York, NY. He continued his education at Bronx Community College and later relocated to Huger, South Carolina, where he was employed as an Operations Technician. In 1981, Langston married and became the father to Lawanda Aldridge Wilson.

Motivated by God’s love and grace Langston was led to join Charity African Episcopal  Church in 2009.

He later married Betty Jane Gillard in August 2013,  and blended their families into one.

Langston was blessed with a large and loving family. His memory will be cherished by: his beloved wife Betty J. Aldridge; loving Daughters and Son: Dr. Lawanda (Jock) Wilson, Katelcia (Allen) Davis, Keenan Gillard, Loletta Stephen and Shataya Gillard. Grandchildren: Langston Wilson, Jackson Wilson, Savannah Wilson, Allen Davis Jr., Nysheen Bennett; Dearest Sister: Mariam (Steven) Glover; Sweet Nieces Joy (Anthony) Franklin and family and Jennifa' Glover; Aunts and Uncles; Carrie (James) Smalls, Christine Smalls, Nathaniel (Annette) Smalls, Mary Smalls, James (Yvonne) Smalls and Robert (Wilhelmina) Smalls Sr.; and a host of family and friends.  Langston was an honorary big brother to Dr. Ja'net Bishop, Darryl Smalls and James T. Smalls.

Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, the family is not receiving visitors. Condolences may be sent to https://www.shulermarshallfuneralhome.com/obituary/mr-langston-aldridge-jr.
