Our beloved Mr. Leroy Grant, Jr., oldest son out of eleven children born to the late Mr. Leroy Grant, Sr., and Mrs. Marie Clark Grant, was born December 1, 1939, in Holly Hill, South Carolina. He departed this life to a place of greater glory on Thursday, November 24, 2022, at his residence.
Mr. Grant grew up in Holly Hill and attended the public schools of the area. At an early age, he joined Greater Unity AME Church.
JR, as he was affectionally called, was the nicest, caring, most loving and friendliest person you ever met.
JR served faithfully on the Trustee Board, The Harvest Hope Food Program and was a member of Class Number 10.
JR was a hard, dedicated worker, employed for 44 years at Georgia Pacific (formerly The Holly Hill Lumber Company) before his retirement in 2005.
On August 18, 1967, he was joined in holy matrimony to the former Miss Dorothy Ann McMillan. This union was blessed with four children. JR was preceded in death by his parents, Leroy Grant, Sr., and Marie Clark Grant, brothers, George, Calvin, and Roosevelt Grant. Mother and Father-in-laws, Ozzie McMillan and Dorothy Mae Banks McMillan, Sisters-in-law, Mattie Bryant and Ruth Banks, Brother-in-law, Willie McMillan.
JR leaves to cherish precious memories: his loving and devoted wife, Dorothy A.
