My sincere condolences and prayers to Cassandra and the Jamison and Bowman families. Praying for strength for the family during this difficult time.

Leroy was my cousin and classmate, he was an easy going young man. I will miss his smile and warm personality. Rest in power Leroy your cousin Mary Ruth Thompson Jenkins

Sorry for the loss of your love one. Leroy was a neighbor of mine doing my young growing days. He was always a kind and gentle man. He will truly be missed by many. May God give the family strength to continue on through life's journey. Rest in peace my friend!!!

A time to be born… Leroy Jamison was born January 31, 1957, in Vance, SC to the late William Jamison, Sr., and Carolyn Joseph Jamison.

A time to grow…Leroy grew up in the Vance area and attended Roberts High School in Holly Hill, South Carolina.  He attended Benedict College and Jones International University earning a Business & Master’s degree in Business Communication Management.

A time to worship… Leroy was converted at an early age while attending Live Oak A.M.E. Church in Vance, SC. He served faithfully when he was young and it continued in his adult life.

A time to love… Leroy married Cassandra Bowman Jamison in 1982 in Vance, SC and their union was blessed with two children. He was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He always had a will to do what was right not only for his family and friends but for those with whom he worked and those in the community in which he lived.

A time to serve…Leroy served God in all that he did by putting Him first. His service to Live Oak A.M.E. Church was widespread. He served faithfully as a class leader and steward.

A time to work…Leroy served 21 years and retired from the US Army. He then worked as a JROTC Instructor at Lincoln High School and Kingstree High School.

A time to die…God called him home from labor to reward on May 2, 2022, at   1:05 PM at Roper Hospital in Charleston, SC. He lived a full life and was ready to meet his maker.  He was preceded in death by his mother and father, sister Betty L. Guess, and sister-in-law Mariah Ann Jamison.

A time to mourn… Leroy’s memories will forever and always be cherished by his wife, Cassandra Jamison; children, Shamaka (Byron) Govan of Goose Creek, SC, and Leroy Dennard Jamison of Charlotte, NC. Two grandchildren, Maurion Jamison & Brilyn Govan.

Siblings: William Jamison, Jr. of Vance, SC, Wilbur (Sheila) Jamison of Santee, SC, James Lee (Carolyn) Jamison of Vance, SC., Mabelle (Thomas) Brown of Ladson, SC, and Frances (Charles) Milhouse of Bamberg

Sisters/Brothers- in-law, Jacob Guess of Vance, SC, Henry (Passion) Bowman, Jr., Columbia, SC, John Bowman, New Haven, CT, Archie (Rose) Bowman, Eutawville, SC, Larry (Emma) Bowman, West Haven, CT, Terry Bowman, Bridgeport, CT, Cathy Ravenell of Lexington, SC; and a host of very special nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
