Marcus Bernard Washington, Sr., known to many as “Fireball,” was born on April 14, 1989, at the Crisp Regional Hospital in Cordele, Georgia. He was born to the parentage of Ms. Gail Kate Washington and Mr. Bruce Byrd Wootson.

He grew up in Dooly County and spent many summers and holidays in Peach County. Educated in the Dooly School System, he found joy in music, art, and anything mechanical. Marcus was a member of the DCHS graduating class of 2007. He marched in the DCHS  Marching band, where he played the quad, snare, and quint drums.

He was forever a lover of art, anime, dogs, gaming, music, motorcycles, and tinkering with anything with a motor. He was a jokester and jack of all trades that everyone loved being around. After completing high school, “Fireball” briefly attended Middle Georgia Technical College, where he studied aircraft structural engineering but left to pursue a life of love, family, and fatherhood.

He has worked in various professions, most recently as an assistant highway maintenance foreman for the Georgia Department of       Transportation (GDOT). Early on, his musical talents led him to play the drums for churches across middle and southwest Georgia. Marcus     attended Greater Morris Tabernacle Baptist Church in Cordele, Georgia. Aside from his hobbies, Marcus loved his children, his family, and his motorcycle club with everything. He was a member of the Macon    Georgia Vikings Motorcycle Club, where he served as Vice President of the Macon chapter.

He is also preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Mildred “Milt” and Margaret Wootson; his maternal grandfather, Walter James Washington Sr; a maternal uncle, Walter James Washington, Jr.; and a paternal uncle, Robert Wootson.
