He graduated from Charlton Pollard High School in 1957 and later worked for Coca-Cola Bottling Company, Bethlehem Steel Corporation, and Stedman Warehouse & Company. As a skilled and dedicated carpenter, Marvin devoted much of his life to the craft of carpentry. For years, he worked with steady hands and a patient spirit, building homes and structures that reflected care, precision, and pride.

Marvin was baptized at an early age at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, and throughout his faith journey, he worshipped at St. Pius X Catholic Church.

Marvin was a passionate Dallas Cowboys fan who loved sports, especially football, which he played in high school. He also enjoyed outdoor activities like fishing, hunting, and boating on the Neches River.

The last of his siblings, on February 10, 2026, Marvin peacefully passed away at Spindletop Hill Nursing and Rehab facility in Beaumont, surrendering to the Lord. He was preceded in death by his children, Marvin Ruben Jr., and Kessa Renee' Mouton; his parents, Morris Sr., and Icela Ruben; and siblings, Morris Ruben Jr., Melvin Ruben, Michael Ruben, and Marian Eady.
