Mr. Robert Bailey a son of the late Mr. Solomon Bailey and Hazel Elmore, was born on January 15, 1943 in Holly Hill, South Carolina and entered into eternal rest on August 16, 2020 in Orangeburg, South Carolina following a brief illness.

He grew up in Holly Hill and attended the public schools of the area.

At an early age, he joined the Greater Target A.M.E. Church.  He later joined State Temple Church and then Johnson Temple C.O.G.I.C.

He was employed as a farmer with Russell Farms.

On January 20, 1964, he was joined in holy matrimony to the former Roxanna Young.  This union was blessed with three children. One of whom, Jerome, preceded him in death.

Those left to cherish loving memories are: his wife, Roxanna Bailey, of the home; his children: Matthew (Phyllis) Abraham, of Hamden, CT, Robert (Judy) Bailey, Jr., of Garner, NC, Vicki (Gerald) Hemingway, of Columbia, SC; sisters-in-law: Emma Bell, Mary Jane Young, Allean Davis, Reverend Lauree (John) Felks;grandchildren: Demetrice Johnson, Matthew Thomas, Keyuana Thomas, Taniah Abraham, Sharise Abraham, Cory Mitchell, Zharia, Gerald and Ariel Hemingway; nieces: Mary A. Jamison, Ray Ann Gillens, Martha E. Gillard and Jessie Holman; nephews: Larry Holman and Otis Holman and a host of other relatives and friends.
