I am sorry to hear of Sam's
passing. I am the wife of Eugene Morris, and I remember being at Sam's house when we would be back to Anguilla. Gene always enjoyed being able to visit with Sam, and I enjoyed meeting his family.

We take this time to acknowledge the passing of the late Mr. Samuel Matthews, Sr.. Mr. Matthews, 77, of Rolling Fork, MS, closed his eyes eternally, Thursday, February 19, 2026, at Merit Health River Region in Vicksburg, MS.
The public visitation will be Friday, February 27, 2026, from 4:00 p.m.-5:30 p.m. at Rose Hill M. B. Church, Rolling Fork, MS. The family hour will follow from 5:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m.
The Homegoing Service will be Saturday, February 28, 2026, 2:00 p.m. at South Delta Middle School, in Anguilla, MS. The body will lie in repose from 12 Noon - 2:00 p.m.
The inhumation will be at Locust Grove Church Cemetery, Anguilla, MS.
Mr. Matthews memories will live on in the hearts of his son, Samuel Matthews, Jr, daughters, Shawana Seals, Shemetrice Matthews & Candice Williams, brother, Otis Matthews, special friend, Angela Eason, grandchildren, nephews, nieces, other relatives, special friends and church family.
