Mr. Will's Obituary

Mr. Will Hudson, Sr., of 2107 McLeod Circle, Cordele, Georgia, died Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at the Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany, Georgia.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, April 19, 2025, at 10:00 AM in the chapel of the J. W. Williams Funeral Home in Cordele, Georgia.  The burial will follow at the Bethel Cemetery in Cordele, Georgia.

Will Hudson, Sr. was born on February 20, 1953, in Dooly County, Georgia, to the proud parents, Arethus Hudson and Willie Mae Rose Hudson. He was a product of the public school system, where he laid the foundation for a life filled with hard work, faith, and family.

Will was a man who found joy and purpose in the open road. His passion for driving led him to a fulfilling career with Dwight Johnson Trucking Company and JCR Farms of Americus. Beyond his work, Will had a deep-seated love for the community and enjoyed fellowshipping with various churches. His heart was always open to sharing scripture, and he carried these sacred words with him throughout his life.

On June 9, 1999, Will married Margaret Cross, embarking on a journey of love and partnership. Together, they built a home filled with warmth and cherished moments. Will was a devoted family man who loved fishing and spending time with his loved ones. His legacy lives on through his family.

On Tuesday, April 8, 2025, Will Hudson, Sr., completed his earthly journey. He was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Alex Peterson. His memory will forever be cherished by those who knew and loved him, and his spirit will continue to inspire future generations.

His life will be remembered by his loving and devoted wife,Margaret C. Hudson of Cordele, Georgia, and his loving children: Ricky Hudson of Warner Robins, Georgia, Tonya Hudson Appiah (Raymond), Rodriquez Peterson, Victoria Long, Will Hudson, Jr., Rocquella Singleton, Takeyla Singleton all of Cordele, Georgia, Sherita Glenn (Greg) of Vienna, Georgia, Roneshia Singleton, Natalie Cross, April Cross, and Daniella Cross all of Cordele, Georgia; 47 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren;  his sisters, Reather Hudson and Brenda Singletary (Gilbert) of Orlando, Florida; his brother, Arethus Hudson of Orlando, Florida; his sisters-in-law Lottie Wilson, Shirley Cross, and Loretta (James)  Benjamin; four brothers-in-law, his nieces, nephews, cousins; a host of friends to his include, Henry Harris, Elvis Westbrook, Jimmy Branch, and Ronnie Wilkes.
