Funeral services for Retired SFC William Robert Dillon Sr. 86, of Killeen will be held Tuesday, January 8, 2019, 12:00 noon at Chisolm's Family Funeral Home in Killeen. Burial with full military honors will follow the service at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen.
Visitation will be held Monday, January 7, 2019, from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Chisolm's Family Funeral Home in Killeen.
Mr. Dillon Sr. passed away December 30, 2018, in Killeen.
William Robert Dillon Sr. was born on April 17, 1932, in Elizabeth, PA. He graduated from Elizabeth High School in Elizabeth PA in 1950. He later enlisted in the United States Army retiring in 1982, serving over 26 years, receiving an honorable discharge. He served in the Korean War. During his last tour in Korea he met and married his wife in Seoul Korea on September 25, 1978. His awards include: The Army Service Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal (Silver 1 Loop); Korean Service Medal; Noncommissioned officer Professional Development Ribbon (Number 3), National Defense Service Medal Overseas Service Ribbon (Number 3); Marksman (Rifle); and the United Nations Service Medal. While serving in Germany he was a member of The Masonic Lodge.
After his service in the Military he was employed with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice as an Instructor and Correctional Officer for over 10 years. He then became an Insurance Agent and Car Salesman in the Killeen, TX area.
William was a proud member of the Westside Baptist Church where he sung in the choir. He was also a member of the Killeen/Fort Hood Golf Association. William enjoyed music, bowling and was an avid golfer.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Ok Sun Dillon of Killeen, TX; sons, William R. Dillon Jr., of Monroeville, PA; Ronald F. Dillon Sr. and wife Jeanine Dillon, of Monroeville, PA; Paul S. Dillon and daughter, Kim L. Dillon of Killeen, TX; grandchildren, Ronald F. Dillon Jr. of Pittsburgh, PA; Nathaniel “Nate” R. Dillon, of Monroeville PA; Janaya L. Spencer and Lanai K. Spencer of Killeen TX.
He is preceded in death by his Father Lloyd William Dillon; Mother Bernice L. Dillon and grandson Ryan M. Dillon.
