Yve Zidor, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on April 6, 2025, in Tampa, Florida, at the age of 61. Born on October 29, 1963, in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, Yve lived a life full of color, character, and deep love for his family.
In 1983, Yve migrated to the United States, first settling in New Jersey before planting new roots in California around 1993. He built a life through hard work and perseverance, dedicating himself to a career in security. He poured his energy into investing and planning for his family's future. While not every venture turned out as he hoped, what mattered most was his unwavering effort—the way he always tried to build something better for those he loved.
Yve was a man of big presence and even bigger heart. He was the one who could turn an ordinary gathering into a celebration. His laughter filled the room, and his storytelling could hold you for hours. He felt life deeply, expressed himself passionately, and leaned into both joy and hardship with intensity.
Those who truly knew Yve understood there were quiet corners in his spirit; ways he soothed his storms and made sense of his passions. Some of those comforts were never spoken of directly, but they were part of how he coped, how he kept going, and how he kept giving. Yve was preceded in death by his parents, Liziana Zidor and Lorelus Benoit.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Mona Zidor, and their three children, Yvensson, Yva, and Yvena. He was a proud grandfather to Hadiya Faith Butler and her mother Cassandra Dawn Butler. Memories of him lives on through his siblings, Margaret Zidor, Wilfred Baussiquot, Ginett Jacket, Marie Claude Benoit and Emmanuel Benoit.
Yve was a flame that burned bright. He made you laugh, made you think, and made sure you knew you mattered. He gave his family everything he had and a little more. His legacy will live on in every joyful story told, every burst of laughter and in the strength of the family he helped build.
