Here’s how I remember Helon Merniece Shoemake Townsend.

She was a spitfire. You did not want to cross her. She was strong and independent, fierce and took no bull. She drove Oldsmobile Cutlass Supremes in the 70s and 80s. She kept an immaculate house.
