Softly and gently, on Friday, November 29, 2024, at 9:30 am, The Master called, and Jeanette Davis answered the call peacefully and entered into eternal life. Jeanette Davis, the sixth child of George and Thelma Grant was born January 16, 1955.

Jeanette was educated in the public schools of Orangeburg County. She grew up in Vance, SC and attended Vance Elementary and Roberts High School. In her early years of life, she worked hard on her father’s farm and traveled to different parts of SC working in tobacco farming. Jeanette was a hard worker and contributed to the support of her family.

At an early age she began seeking God and she was baptized and converted under the spiritual leadership of the late Reverend W.W. Wine. In 1976 she accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and joined the Holly Hill Deliverance Center under the leadership of the late Reverend Hinson Pooser, Sr where she served faithfully. Jeanette served on the choir and as an usher and on the church’s cooking committee.

On August 30, 1975, she was united in holy matrimony to the man of her dreams, Allen Davis. This union was blessed with four children, Angela, Alex Roshon, Adrin and Kevin.  Jeanette was a wonderful wife, mother, a terrific grandmother, a loving and supportive daughter, sister, and aunt.

Jeanette was a pillar of strength in her home, for her family and community. She was such a sweet and loving person who open her doors for countless children and family members. Jeanette played many roles in her life. She was a great babysitter for all of us. Keeping our babies while we worked. She enjoyed cooking and feeding her entire family. She was the Master Chef; she could cook anything, and she would cook enough to feed an entire army. She loved making biscuits for everyone. When traveling up north and the family knew she was in town, she had to make biscuits for everyone. Some of her favorite dishes were peach cobbler, collard greens, potato salad, sweet potato pies, roast beef and black berry dumpling and the list goes on.  When you walk through her doors you would always leave with a plate of food.

Jeanette was preceded in death by her loving parents, George and Thelma Grant, loving sisters, Mary Wright and Matilda Jeter. Her loving brothers Gunnie Grant Jr., Leroy Grant Sr. and George Grant Jr.; Deceased in-laws, Betty Grant, Gussie Mae Grant, Lacell Davis Jr., Betsy Davis, Curtis Davis and Richard Davis.

She leaves to cherish her memory: her loving and devoted husband, Allen Davis one loving daughter, Angela Davis of Holly Hill SC, three sons, Alex Roshon (Monica) Davis of Vance SC, Adrin (Asia) Davis of Elloree, SC and Kevin (Stephanie) Davis of Summerville, SC.
