SHE WAS AN ACTIVE MEMBER OF GREATER GOOD HOPE BAPTIST CHURCH. SHE ATTENDED BLANCHETTE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL, ODOM MIDDLE SCHOOL, AND HEBERT HIGH SCHOOL. SHE ATTENDED LAMAR UNIVERSITY AND OBTAINED A NURSING DEGREE AND BECAME A LICENSED VOCATIONAL NURSE. (LVN)
ON JUNE 27, 2017, LAVERIE MAE WILLIAMS AND LAYWOOD MOLETTE UNITED IN HOLY MATRIMONY.
LAVERIE WAS A WOMAN WITH MANY TALENTS AND A VARIETY OF PROFESSIONS. SHE WORKED AS A PRIVATE DUTY NURSE, A DIRECTOR OF NURSING AT OAKWOOD MANOR NURSING HOME, AND AS A NURSE AT VIDOR HEALTH AND REHAB CENTER AND UTMB. SHE ALSO TAUGHT CNA CLASSES AT CANTERBURY NURSING HOME AND RETIRED AFTER 30 YEARS. ADDITIONALLY, SHE WAS AN INSURANCE AGENT, A POSTAL WORKER, A SUBSTITUTE TEACHER, AND EMPLOYED AT JOSKE’S DEPARTMENT STORE AND ST. ELIZABETH HOSPITAL AT VARIOUS TIMES IN HER LIFE.
YOU WOULD REMEMBER HER BY HER FANCY HATS, SUITS, SHOES, AND PURSES, BECAUSE SHE ALWAYS DRESSED TO IMPRESS.
LAVERIE MAE WILLIAMS-MOLETTE WENT TO BE WITH THE LORD AT ST. ELIZABETH HOSPITAL ON SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 2, 2025.
PRECEDING HER IN DEATH WAS HER PARENTS, CLARENCE SMITH AND CLEO BOWDEN, SISTER, SYLVIA SIMS, BROTHERS, CLARENCE SMITH AND WARREN SMITH, AND DAUGHTER, LORETTA LYNN HARRIS.
FOREVER CHERISHING HER MEMORY IS HER HUSBAND OF 8 YEARS, LAYWOOD MOLETTE, DAUGHTERS, ANASTASIA OSHO (EKUNDAYO), STEPHANIE HARRIS, AND SON, CHRISTOPHER Z. HARRIS (SABRINA), A BONUS SON, LAYWOOD MOLETTE JR., AND A BONUS DAUGHTER, SHONTA MOLETTE, BROTHER, RONALD SMITH, GRAND KIDS, GREAT GRAND KIDS, AND A HOST OF RELATIVES AND FRIENDS.
