Ms. Brenda's Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Brenda Faye Perkins Oliphant on Monday, September 22, 2025, at Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston. 

Born on November 14, 1946, in Beaumont to Edgar “Sonny” Perkins, Jr., and Rose Comeaux Perkins, Brenda was the oldest of five children.  She grew up in the Southend and was a 1964 graduate of Charlton-Pollard High School.  After graduation, she attended Lamar Tech and subsequently moved to Washington, D.C., where she was employed by the U.S. Department of the Navy. She eventually returned to Beaumont and spent her career at the Social Security Administration and retired as a Claims Representative with almost 40 years of service.

Brenda was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her son, Lance Oliphant; granddaughter, Cammie Guzman; great-grandchildren, Cooper, Kimber and Mia; and siblings, Carolyn Charlton, Peggy Perkins, Wayne Perkins and Maggie Perkins; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
