Ms. Chitoria C.'s Obituary

Ms. Chitoria Chanea Mency of 405 West 13th Avenue, Cordele, Georgia died Sunday, February 20, 2022 at her residence.

The graveside funeral service will be held Tuesday, March 1, 2022 at 12:00 Noon at the Sunnyside Cemetery in Cordele, Georgia.  Everyone in attendance is asked to please wear a mask and to practice social distancing.

Strong, loving,  and determined are the  attributes that will forever be in our hearts and minds when we think of our precious, Chitoria Chanea Mency.  She was welcomed to this world on September 3, 1997 by a loving and caring family.

Enrolled as a student in the Crisp County School System, she grew and her determination to excel was always evident.  She was a proud 2016 graduate of Crisp County High School. While in high school, she became a member of the JROTC program.  She valued the many lessons learned along the way.

Early in her life she was introduced to the Lord, Jesus Christ at the Shady Grove Baptist Church.  As she grew, her faith in the Lord grew and she never waivered in her determination to acknowledge him as the head of her life.

On Sunday, February 20, 2022 after fighting a brave and gallant fight, our  beloved peacefully transitioned from this life to life     eternal.  She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Lyndia Davis and Gloria Lucas.

The beauty of her life will forever be cherished by her  loving and devoted family:  her husband, Courtney Nickerson of Cordele, Georgia; her parents, Selena Armstrong of Cordele, Georgia and Marcus Lucas of Unadilla, Georgia and Curtis and Latonya Mency of Cordele, Georgia; her   grandmothers, Beulah Armstrong of Cordele, Georgia, Pearlie M. Lucas of Pinehurst, Georgia, and Beatrice Thomas of Cordele, Georgia; her  sisters, Chiteria Mency and Chamiia Mency both of Cordele, Georgia, and Quionne Lucas of Montezuma, Georgia; her brothers,  Malcovian Mency and Marquavian Mency both of Cordele, Georgia; a host of aunts and uncles; great aunts and great uncles; a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many sorrowing friends, to include the P. O. G. Crew, The Squad ‘Nem, Connie Sanders, Sabrena Smith, Michelle Burks, Latashia Armstrong, Tashiyonia Jones, Uncle Peter, Uncle Anthony, D’vontra Armstrong, Shonta Lofton, Christina Marlin and Kennifer Pounds.
