Ms. Irene Hayes of 411 East 19th Avenue, Cordele, Georgia, died Thursday, October 16, 2025, at the Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany, Georgia.
The funeral service will be on Sunday, October 26, 2025, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of the J. W. Williams Funeral Home in Cordele Georgia. The burial will follow at the Springhill Baptist Church Cemetery in Cordele, Georgia.
Everyone entering the funeral home for visitation or services is required to wear a mask and maintain social distancing. A mask must be worn throughout the stay. You must supply your mask.
Mrs. Irene Hayes was born on May 14, 1961, to the late Jim Hayes and Christell Hayes. She was reared and educated in the Crisp County Public School System. She later became a certified CNA, and she obtained her CDL. She became the caregiver for her sister, Annie Hayes, and devoted her life to taking care of her. If you were to encounter her throughout the day, you would be sure to see Ann as well. She worked at Daphne Lodge until her passing.
On October 16, 2025, while a patient at Phoebe Putney Hospital, she heard the calling of the Lord and peacefully took her rest. Irene was preceded in death by her father, Jim Hayes and her mother, Christell Hayes; her sisters: Rebecca Walker, Patrica Ann Pope, and Naomi Wallace; her brothers: Johnny June, Reverend Jim Hayes, Jr., and Alphonso Hayes; and her granddaughter, Sa'Niyah Lofton.
She leave to cherish her legacy a very loving and devoted son; William Tyson (Erica) of Fayetteville, Georgia; three beloved grandchildren: Jarquavius Tyson, Marquavius Tyson of Fayetteville, Georgia, and Deeyazman Tyson of Griffin, Georgia; her great grandchildren: Christian Tyson, Caiden Tyson, A'Yonni Amporful, Aysia Amporful, A'Vonni Amrporful, and A'Ria Amporful; her brothers: Alonza Hayes (Lillie) and Reverend Richard Hayes (Felecia) both of Cordele, Georgia, and Willie Fred Hayes (Felecia) of Americus, Georgia; her sisters: Mary Fegins of Fairburn, Georgia, Pastor Elizabeth Davis of Lithonia, Georgia, and Annie Hayes of Cordele, Georgia; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends are left to cherish the special memories of her life.
