Ms. Jana D.'s Obituary

Ms. Jana Denise Leggette of 2897 Lilly Road, Vienna, Georgia passed away Monday, March 3, 2025, at the Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at 11:00 AM in the sanctuary of the Turkey Creek Baptist Church in Lilly, Georgia.  The burial will follow at the Little Poplar Spring Cemetery in Byromville, Georgia.

Jana Denise Leggette was born on March 22, 1966, in Dooly County, Georgia, to Deacon Houisea Sanders and Ms. Lessie Mae Leggette. Her life was a testament to love and dedication to family and friends.

Jana was educated in the public schools of Dooly County, graduating from Dooly County High School. Her faith played a significant role in her life as a member of Turkey Creek Baptist Church, where she shared her musical talents as a choir member.

Jana dedicated over 25 years to her profession as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), a career that highlighted her caring nature and commitment to helping others. Her compassion extended beyond her professional life, touching everyone she met. 

Jana Denise Leggette will be remembered for her warm heart, her devotion to family, and her vibrant spirit that never failed to bring a smile to those around her. She was known for her famous sweet potato pies and her love of dancing, which brought joy to family gatherings.

Her legacy lives on in the love she shared and the memories cherished by all who knew her. On Monday, March 3, 2025, our beloved peacefully transitioned from this life.  Jana was preceded in death by her parents and her son, Janorrius Sanders. 

Her journey will forever be remembered by her loving and devoted children, Jamorrius Sanders of Vienna, Georgia, Tomeisha Sanders (Reginald Lively) of McDonough, Georgia, and Jantoria Sanders of Vienna, Georgia; her cherished and adored grandchildren, Jamorris Lester and Janorrius Sanders of Unadilla, Georgia, and Nylah J’Noelle Lively of McDonough, Georgia; her loving sisters, Chandricka Royal (Trimecius) of Perry, Georgia, Shannikia Sanders (Salathian Turner) and Elizabeth Stubbins of Vienna, Georgia, and Shonda Sutton of Jacksonville, Florida; her brother, Jewmark Sanders (Michelle Lawson) of Vienna, Georgia; her uncle,  Jimmy Sanders (Patty) of Cordele, Georgia; her aunt, Mary Stevens of Belle Glade, Florida; a dear friend, Lorenzo Woodson of Vienna, Georgia; a host of nieces, nephews,  cousins, other relatives, and many sorrowing friends.
