Not sure what to say?

When I heard the news, I was shocked! It’s been a few years since I’ve connected with Ms. Joann, but she left a lasting impression on me and truly blessed to have had an opportunity to have gotten to know her. I worked with her a Job Corps and she embraced me from day one. Little back story. I moved to Jacksonville in 2015 from St. Pete/Tampa. I had a great job opportunity and just went for it. Back in St. Pete I was spending time teaching financial literacy at the local Job Corps and really...

I had the recent pleasure of working with Ms. Joann Manning and send my deepest condolences to her family, friends, colleagues and the youth she supported. I am so grateful to have met and benefitted from her knowledge and passion for the work she was doing. Her spirit was clearly committed to serving others and her example will live in my heart and actions forever.

May her soul rest in perfect peace

A mentor and dear Soror always endeared me with a word of advice and compassion. We will miss her so much. Blessings to Family

My condolences to the family and her sister Josephine Anderson may God continue to bless the family at this time of grieving and healing and comfort class of 1972 Andrew Jackson tigers 1972

My heart is so heavy, losing you is like losing a family memember...we were so close in high scool. We shared so many things together. We even dressed alike at times ;-). Ioved you like a sister...save a seat for me! I'll bring the Batons and our hand made majorette outfits...glitter, tassels and all!!!!!

To the Family of Joann Manning
I send my condolences to each of you.
I knew Joann as a classmate at Matthew W. Gilbert, class of 1970, even then she quietly serviced. It was there we were both involved in the band and a social club, surrendering service as needed.
In later years she was involved in numerous community organizations where once again she quietly gave of herself not expecting anything in return.
So today,she leaves the world...

In this existence, we experience two miracles. The first is birth: that moment when we rejoice and come together in harmony and celebration. For my aunt, Joann Manning, that first miracle occurred on May 16, 1951.

On January 5, 2026, a second miracle took place; on this day, she was born again. I choose to see this as her new birthday—the day I will now celebrate. I choose to let go of May 16, 1951, completely, and embrace January 5, 2026, wholeheartedly.

The past is...

My deepest condolences to the family. You would truly be missed my dear friend/coworker. I’m going to miss the conversations we had and shared rest on until I see you again.
