Ms. Luecile's Obituary

Ms. Luecile Hillmon of 715 Story Street, Ashburn, Georgia died Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at the Emory St. Joseph's Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia.

The funeral service will be held Thursday,  November 30, 2023 at 2:30 PM in the sanctuary of the Greater St. Luke Baptist Church in Ashburn,  Georgia.   The burial will follow at Westview Memorial Garden in Ashburn,  Georgia. 

Luecile Hillmon affectionately known as “Ma Cile” to her loved ones and friends, was born on March 31, 1940 in Sibley, Georgia to the parents of the late Ms. Gennie Mae Edmond and the late Mr. Flint Hillmon. She attended Eureka High School in Ashburn, Georgia. 

Luecile accepted Christ at an early age and united with the New Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Sibley, Georgia where she served as a devoted usher for many years.  It was in her will to nurture and provide. Her passion for cooking granted her a position as a chef for her uncle,   Earnest Edmond’s restaurant, while working under Dr. C.C. Goss all for fifteen years in Ashburn, Georgia. 

On November 21, 2023 her life journey came to a peaceful end at St. Joseph Emory Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia. She is preceded in death by her parents, Flint and Gennie. She is also preceded in death by her siblings, Gennie Mae Hillmon, Ms. Louise Hillmon, Mr. L.C. Hillmon Sr, Mr.  Johnny L. Hillmon, Mr. Willie J. Hillmon, and Mr. Eddie B. Hillmon

Wonderful memories of a well lived life will be cherished by her two loving children, Rodney Hillmon (Derenne) and Ms. Rachel Whitsett both of Ashburn, Georgia; her brother, Larry Hillmon of Atlanta, Georgia; two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Mable Hillmon and Mrs. Inez Hillmon of Ashburn, Georgia; six grandchildren, Kavien Hillmon (Phinda) of Atlanta, Georgia, Jasmine High (Jamie) of Tifton, Georgia, Keshawn Odums, Audrey Hillmon, Keshunda Odums, KeAndre Odums of Ashburn, Georgia; seven great-grandchildren, Jeremiah, Cortlan, Jaylen, KeyShawn Jr, Kavien Jr., Jayme,  Kristian; two godchildren, Demarcus Simmon and Ricardo Laster; two bonus grandchildren; Kam and Ashton. A host of beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends.
