Nancy Ann Cooke, 78, Sackets Harbor, NY, passed away Tuesday, December 9th, 2025, with her family by her side.
Calling hours are Saturday, December 13th, 2025, from 10 am -12 noon at the Reed & Benoit Funeral Home, Watertown, with a funeral service to follow at 12 noon. Spring burial will be held for the convenience of the family in Lakeside Cemetery, Sackets Harbor.
Nancy is survived by her husband Wayne, her son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Katherine Cooke, New Hartford, NY and her daughter and son-in-law, Julie and Robert Houghmaster, Adams, NY; her grandchildren Alexander (Jackie) Cooke, Nicholas Cooke, Rachael (Regen) Cavanagh, Alexis (DJ) Manson, Hannah (Daniel) Cooke and Hayden Houghmaster; great grandchildren Georgia Mae and Violet Cooke, Lainey Cavanagh and Samson Manson; her sister Carol Lutz, Sackets Harbor and brother David (Vicki) Kulze, Sidney, NY; her sister-in-law Linda Schenck, Mexico, NY; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Nancy was predeceased by her stepfather James Priestly and her brother-in-law, David Schenck.
Nancy was born in Watertown on November 28, 1947, a daughter of Clarence (CJ) and Phyllis Barker Weaver. She graduated from Sackets Harbor High School. She married Wayne R. Cooke on April 29th, 1966, in Sackets Harbor. Later in life, Nancy and Wayne enjoyed spending winters in Florida, always returning to Sackets Harbor, her true home.
Nancy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother whose life was centered on caring for others. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her household. She thrived in roles where she could care for others, working for many years in childcare as well as serving as a compassionate caregiver for the elderly.
Nancy will be remembered for her gentle strength, her giving nature and her unwavering dedication to those she loved.
