Not sure what to say?

What a woman, I met her before I met my beautiful bride, (Debbie) I have watched her dedication to family, and to ministry. I have seen her in the mountain tops and in the valley, but always honorable, and gracious... I have seen her taking kids to youth camps, playing piano, working in the office, praying, singing, encouraging and correcting... I have been involved in most of those parts of her life. She always had a one liner quote to illuminate the current situation.
I am...

GAIL WAS AN AWESOME LADY.SHE AND JAKE ALWAYS TREATED MYSELF AND MY KIDS LIKE FAMILY FROM THE VERY FIRST VISIT TO UNION HOLINESS.LIFE GETS IN THE WAY BUT LOVE THAT YOU HAVE FOR PEOPLE NEVER GOES AWAY.I HAVE ALWAYS LOVED THE CARTER FAMILY AND ALWAYS.SHE RESTS IN THE ARMS OF THE LORD NOW.I AM SORRY FOR THE LOSS OF AN AMAZING LADY.

Dear Jason and Jessica, You and your family have my deepest condolences. I had the pleasure of meeting her once at your Dad’s funeral, and from the obituary, she was obviously a great woman of God, wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. I hope the good memories and the knowledge that she is still with you in spirit can provide comfort. Sending thoughts and prayers, Brad Jenkins.

She was a beautiful person that I had the honor of knowing. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

NANCY GAIL's Obituary

Nancy Gail Staples Carter, 88, of Spottsville, Kentucky, was called by her loving Father to her Heavenly home at 7:28 p.m. Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at Redbanks Nursing Home in Henderson, Kentucky.

Nancy Gail was a trailblazer, unafraid to do new things, and in doing so, often set a new standard for others to follow.  She was courageous and persistent, forging a new path that God ordained and transforming life’s obstacles into opportunities.

In 1969, she was first in her family to surrender her life to Christ.  The rest of the family, because of her leadership, chose to follow Christ as well.  In 1977, she and her husband, Stephen, founded and pastored for 33 years Union Holiness Church, later becoming Christian Life Church of Henderson, Kentucky.  Nancy Gail loved the Lord greatly and served Him faithfully for more than 56 years.  She was a true testimony of the goodness and grace of God.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, the Reverend Stephen Jake Carter; one son, Toby Nelson; her father, Ralph Douglas Staples; her mother, Dorothy Staples; and one sister, Judy Rogers.

Survivors include two sons, the Reverend Mark Carter and his wife, Carmen, and Jason Carter and his wife, Jessica, both of Henderson, Kentucky; two daughters, Donna Nelson and Deborah Eaton and her husband, John, both of Evansville, Indiana; one brother, Paul Hayes and his wife, Judy, of Paducah, Kentucky; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 8, 2025, at Rudy-Rowland Funeral Home.  Her son, the Reverend Mark Carter will officiate.  Burial will be in Carter Cemetery in Reed, Kentucky.

Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, November 7, 2025, and from 9 a.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home.

Contributions may be made to Christian Life Church, 1515 Roosevelt Street, Henderson, Kentucky 42420.

            Pallbearers will be her grandsons.

Online condolences may be made at www.rudyrowland.com.
