Nancy R. Syslo

We met Nancy at McDonald's in Melrose Park. Some of us met her at other places in the area.

She would come to McDs a couple of times a week. We looked forward to seeing her and made sure we sat with her. She was quiet even when some of us got into heated discussions. The manager, Maynard would bring her oatmeal and coffee.

She shared private moments and thoughts with us that we will cherish. Though we only knew her for a short period of time, we will miss her...

Nancy was a wonderful woman. We were good friends for about 8 years. She never complained about her difficulties and was always a good listener. Her quiet elegance and generous nature affected me deeply. Like Nancy, I never married. We spoke often about the single woman and aging. I will miss her deeply. I was in Europe at the time of her death and memorial and therefore learned about her death on November 20, when I returned. Nancy enriched my life and I will always be grateful to...
