Rest peacefully now in the arms of the Lord, Uncle Butch. We will always love you and cherish our memories of you. You fought a long fight just as solider you always were. I love you.

Nathaniel's Obituary

Nathaniel Roots of Manquin, VA, son of the late Aubrey Roots, Sr. and Alice Roots, and late sister Addie Wilmore, was born February 18, 1964. He departed this life on June 1, 2025, at Veteran Administration Hospital. Nathaniel was baptized at St. Paul Baptist Church at an early age.

He leaves to cherish his memories, four brothers, Earl Gresham of Aylett, VA., Aubrey Roots, Jr. of Aylett, VA., Moses Roots (Debbie) of Hanover, VA., and Aaron Roots (Korita) of Ruther Glen, VA.; three sisters, Hattie Troublefield (James) of Raeford, NC., Lizzie Tones of Fayetteville, NC., and Stacey Roots of Ettrick, VA. A host of nieces, nephews and a host of bonus brothers and sister in-laws. A host of good friends and two devoted friends, Mr. Ken Brooks and Mr. Hank.
