Neal and Crystal and the boys were great neighbors across our street, when they first moved to town on North Frankfort St. Neal was talented and always had a kind word as we walked the sidewalks past his house on the way to week end church. I always enjoyed seeing his photography success based on local sporting events. He is surely missed. RIP Neal.

Neal R. Stoner, age 62, of Minster, Ohio, died on Thursday, September 11, 2025. He was born on July 4, 1963 in Warren, Ohio to the late Kenneth R. & Dolores H. (Hildack) Stoner. He married Crystal Clayton on February 21, 1987 and she survives in Minster. He is also survived by sons: Kyle & Andi Mireles, Kody Stoner, Chad Stoner, all of Columbus, siblings: Kenneth D. & Paula Stoner, Ravenna, Ronald Stoner & Andrea Grunder, Newton Falls, in-laws: Karen & Stephen Baldwin, Pickerington, Kevin Clayton & Lisa Newton, Indian Lake. He was preceded in death by his parents, and in-laws Harold “Pete” & Patricia Ann “Pat” Clayton.
Born and raised in Newton Falls, Ohio, Neal graduated from Newton Falls High School before continuing his education at Ohio University, where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Telecommunications.
Neal met his wife Crystal while attending Ohio University Zanesville and they married in February of 1987. Their married life together began in Long Beach, California where they had their first son, Kyle. Eventually moving to Minster, Ohio they welcomed two more sons—Kody, and Chad. He was unwavering in his dedication to his three sons who were his pride and joy. Neal was a constant presence in their lives as a Scout Master, Minster sports photographer & videographer and the biggest fan of their Wildcat athletics achievements. He poured his creativity, values, and love into his family, leaving an enduring legacy not only within his home but also in the wider community.
A gifted craftsman, Neal found joy in drawing, woodworking, painting, and gardening. His artistic passions were not only hobbies but a way of life that he eagerly shared with his sons, passing on to them a love of creating and building with their own hands.
When he wasn’t working on a new project, Neal could be found cheering for his beloved Los Angeles Rams, photographing birds visiting his bird feeders or enjoying the timeless songs of the Grateful Dead. Some of his happiest moments were spent at Indian Lake, where evenings by the campfire with family and friends and days cruising on the boat filled his heart with peace and joy.
Those who knew Neal will remember his warmth, creativity, and dedication to those he loved. His legacy lives on in the countless lives he touched through his kindness, his artistry, and his unwavering devotion to his family.

Funeral Services will be held 1:00 PM Wednesday, September 17, 2025 at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster, with burial to follow in St. Augustine Cemetery, Minster. Friends may call at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster, on Tuesday, September 16, 2025 from 5 to 8 PM and Wednesday, September 17 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Indian Lake Development Committee. Condolences may be left at www.hogenkampfh.com.
