Nettie Mae Pomerville, 96, of Sturgeon Bay, WI, was called Home to be with the Lord and was reunited her husband, Robert, August 20, 2024 while at the home of her daughter, Sue, in the Town of Sturgeon Bay.
She was born August 8, 1928, in Manistee, MI, the daughter of Michael Lawrence Mucha and Stella (Jazgar) Mucha. Nettie graduated from Manistee High School. She was united in marriage to Robert Lewis Pomerville on April 27, 1950, in Chicago, IL.
Together, they owned operated their concession stands, “Pomervilla” and “House of Flavors,” on the beautiful beaches of Michigan. While in Manistee, Nettie and Bob were members of St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church and the American Legion Auxiliary.
Nettie and Bob moved to Sturgeon Bay, WI and attended Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Sturgeon Bay.
Nettie and Bob were blessed with over 63 years of marriage. Bob passed way in Sturgeon Bay on October 26, 2013.
Nettie liked knitting and sewing. Together with Bob and other family, she enjoyed playing poker and traveling.
Nettie will be missed by her six children, Mary Kowalski of Milwaukee, WI, Carol (Bill) Babb, Sue (George) Neuman, Brenda (Dean) Paschke, all of Sturgeon Bay, WI, Jean Slawinski of Manistee, MI; son, John (Sue) Pomerville of Sylvan Lake, MI; two grandchildren, Jill (Dennis) Allard of Green Bay, WI and Clay (Justine) Slawinski of Manistee, MI; three great-grandchildren, Henry and Alexander Slawinski and Michael Allard; sister-in-law; nieces and nephews; and friends.
She was welcomed Home by her parents; husband; son-in-law, Frank Kowalski; and siblings, Eleanore Chmielewski and Joseph Mucha; and other relatives.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 21, 2025 at the Herbert Funeral Home in Manistee led by Rev. James Bearss. She will be laid to rest at Mt. Carmel Catholic Cemetery in Manistee beside her husband, Bob, following the service.
The family will be at the funeral home on Saturday, 1 hour prior to the time of service to receive friends.
