We all are grateful for your stepping up to the plate when your country needed you the most. America thanks you for your service to our country in the defense of freedom. Nicholas's Obituary

Nicholas Alexander, 88, of Hanover Township, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 13, 2025, at home, surrounded by his loving family. Nicholas and his wife, Irene (Kalinowski), celebrated 58 years of marriage on June 17th. Born July 12, 1937, in Witepsk, Russia, he was a son of the late Eugene and Melony (Ditel) Aleksandrowicz.

Nicholas was a professional soccer player for the Kingston Sports Club from 1961 to 1963. After his athletic career, he joined the U.S. Army and honorably served his country during the Vietnam War Era. Following his military service, Nicholas worked as an electronics technician at Western Electric (later Lucent Technologies), dedicating 32 years to the company. His passion for soccer remained a constant throughout his life. He was a co-founder of the Jersey City Youth Soccer League, where he devoted his time to coaching and helping young players develop their skills. He was a member of Assumption of the Virgin Mary Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Northampton. 

In addition to his wife, Nicholas is survived by daughter, Vera Dutt and husband, Troy; son, George and wife, Robin; 6 grandchildren; nieces, Anna and Lisa; and nephew, Walter. He was predeceased by his brothers, Tony and Eugene Jr. 

Private services are under the care of Reichel Funeral Home, Northampton.
