Nicolas's Obituary

Nicolas S. "Nico" Reppas, 82, of Cuyahoga Falls, formerly of Lorain, fell asleep in the Lord, Friday, September 1, 2023.

Born on December 10, 1940, in the picturesque town of Thisvi, Greece, Nicolas was the cherished son of Giannoula Reppas (née Kalpouzou) of Prodromos and Serafim Reppas. He embarked on a brave journey to the United States at the tender age of 17, seeking opportunities and a promising future.

Nicolas was a selfless and devoted member of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church in Lorain since his arrival to in 1957 and the and Lorain County Order of AHEPA. Nicolas dedicated himself to General Motors for 33 diligent years, exemplifying a steadfast commitment in every venture of his life. But above all, it was his deep and abiding love for his family that truly defined him.

Nicolas is preceded in death by his parents, brother Sotiris Reppas, and twin sisters Kalomira and Heleni Reppas.

He is survived by beloved wife of 45 years, Areti Reppas (née Antoniou) his brother Dimitrios Reppas of New Jersey two loving sons: Serafim and his devoted wife Kristin (née Paslowski) and their children, Nico, Marco, and Penelope; and Constantine Reppas and his adoring wife Joanna (née El-Maasri) with their children Eva, Lena, and Katia. And many nieces and nephews throughout the US and Greece.  Each of these individuals were not just family, but the essence of his world.

Nico's grandkids, who were the apple of his eye, added unparalleled joy and purpose to his life. Their stories and achievements were his favorite tales to share, illuminating the room with pride.

A fervent lover of soccer, Nico found joy in the thrill of the game, embodying his Grecian roots and passion. In quieter moments, he'd lose himself in the world of old western movies, relishing in tales of honor, courage, and resilience.

As we bid him farewell, we celebrate a life richly lived, marked by an enduring love and memories that will forever warm our hearts.

Rest in peace, dear Nico. Your legacy of love, strength, and inspiration will forever echo in the stories we share and the memories we cherish.

His family will receive friends at Saint Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, 2000 Tower Boulevard, Lorain, Wednesday, September 6, 2023, from 10 until his funeral service at 11 AM. Rev. Father Christopher Zaferes, Pastor will officiate. His burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery, Lorain.

His family suggests contributions to St. Nicholas.
